Sarah, just like Brittany, has been busy on the leadership front.  As a marching band section leader at Metea Valley High School next year, she just completed a 2-day leadership seminar at the VanderCook College of Music in downtown Chicago.  They learned leadership skills as well as worked on sectional music practice.

She is very excited for the coming year.  It’s good to see her have a more positive attitude about going to the new high school.  It took her awhile, but I think she’s there!  🙂

Crepes-BreakfastWhile Sarah was gone, Angela and I went on a long walk (actually I joined Angela at the end of her run) around the Waubonsie lake.  I did about 3 miles with her after she had already run over 3.  It was a very cool morning and it felt GREAT to be outside.  We then went home and made some AWESOME crepes for breakfast.  I made the crepes and Angela made a WONDERFUL cream cheese, sour cream, lime yogurt, and fresh squeezed lime filling that was to die for.  We topped that with fresh-picked blueberries and powdered sugar.  We probably ate too many of them!

We spent the rest of the day cleaning house, and tonight, Brittany had a final summer bash with 10 of her friends.  They ate a bunch of junk, played ping pong, played Wii, played Apples to Apples, and then watched Twilight.  They had a great time!
