Leadership Forum

At work, we just created a leadership program and I was selected to be one of the first participants!  🙂  I am participating in a year-long program through the Society of Information Management (SIM) called the Regional Leadership Forum (RLF).  The group meets every 6 weeks, participates in leadership discussions/activities, listens to CEO/CIO presentations, and reads 35 books on leadership topics.  It’s pretty rigorous, but I am already building relationships with 35 outstanding individuals and we are having a GREAT time!  Here is the link to the SIM site that discusses more about the RLF program.  I would recommend it to anyone!

Angela, Meet Edward (Hospital, not Cullen)!

edwardhospital1Angela got to spend a wonderful New Year’s Eve in Edward Hospital in Naperville with a serious bacterial infection.  On the 28th and 29th of December, after enduring horrid pain, she finally went to the doctor.  The doctor then admitted her to the hospital where she spent 2 nights there on IV and fluids (30th and 31st).  She came back home on January 1st feeling MUCH better!

The rest of us had to celebrate New Year’s Eve without our wonderful wife and mom.  As she was resting and sleeping in the hostpital, we ate a bunch of junk food, watched movies, played games, and then celebrated the coming of 2009 together.  Zach fell asleep and we had a hard time getting him up to go outside, yell, bang pans, and then have a sip of sparkling cider!  🙂

We’re glad to have her back, and hope that she doesn’t have to go through that again!
